Parma Social Project

850 high-quality, fully compliant homes at a reduced cost

The ISOTEX wood cement formwork blocks conquer a broad consensus among construction technologies that will be used to build the first Italian Social House project, started in late 2011 in Parma.

The project, which involved the construction of about 850 homes, will be the first in a long series, which will involve other cities in Italy.

Anti-seismic to thermo-acoustic regulations and the guarantee of very low maintenance of the buildings over the years.

For these reasons, among the construction technologies on the market, ISOTEX was highly considered by the parties involved in this project.

Over 50% of the homes in the “Parma Social House” will in fact be built with Isotex wood cement formwork blocks.

Very careful checks were carried out by the designers, promoters and those driving the project.

To capture the best the market can offer in terms of living comfort, guaranteed durability and quality of the products used, and cost containment.

Isotex formwork blocks are laid dry, inside them the iron reinforcement is inserted and then filled with concrete, in compliance with the Ministerial Guidelines of July 2011.

This result in an extremely solid and highly anti-seismic load-bearing wall structure, which guarantees excellent hold in the event of an earthquake.

None of the countless buildings in Emilia, Abruzzo, Umbria and Friuli have had the slightest problem.

This type of dry laying allows extremely fast construction times also thanks to the fact that with a single operation the structural (eliminating the pillars), thermal, acoustic, etc. aspect are met, which therefore also results in financial savings.

The 44 cm thick TOP CLASS HDIII 44/18 block was used for the job in Parma, consisting of a series of 6-storey buildings.

It perfectly meets the structural, acoustic, thermal, thermal inertia and fire resistance requirements.
